Caroline Myss, author of ‘Anatomy of the Spirit’ is a medical intuitive. Her teaching incorporates the ancient wisdom of three major traditions - the Hindu chakras, - the Christian sacraments and - the Kabbalah’s Tree of Life, describing seven energy centers or chakras of spiritual and physical power in our bodies. As we grow through life, we learn to understand and balance issues of power related to each of these centers. The balance is expressed by the artist’s paintings as different manifestations of love and refecting the uniqueness of each chakra.
In the first stage, love is expressed through honouring family traditions and rules within the tribe of the family where loyalty and support are paramount . At the second energy center, love manifests as partnership and friendship, caring for people outside the blood tribe As the third energy center awakens, the power of love is self-empowerment in terms of personal, physical and material needs In the fourth chakra, located at the heart center, we begin to know ourselves through our emotions and express ourselves through the gifts of compassion and harmony At the fifth energy center, the focus is more on the mental aspects of love, where trust and surrendering our will to a Higher Source is prominent. Working from power in the sixth center, located in the middle of the forehead, people such as healers, teachers and parents use love and wisdom to guide their actions. The seventh chakra, on the crown of the head connects human beings to the cosmos and their spiritual natures, free from fear and serving a higher purpose.
The artist hopes that the different expressions of love captured in the paintings will awaken and inspire human beings to the power and magic within them, to re-create a world that embraces love in all aspects of their lives.
